Choc Drop Cake

I had some leftover chocolates from this Peanut Baby Shower and now that the little peanut is in the world I used them up to make him a cake :)

The cake is a vanilla bean rosewater mud cake, topped with layers and layers of chocolate ganache, choc buttons & jumbo choc malt balls.

With a little personalized bunting.

Cape Lodge Degustation

My fiance and I got engaged a couple of years ago and I was excited to start looking at places to have the wedding. This was my first encounter with Cape Lodge in Margaret River.

Ffwd two years later and I was surprised with a stay there for my 31st birthday. 

The service we received from the moment we walked in was impeccable. It's a very secluded property so we felt like we were there on our own. We even pretended it was our house & that's how we lived hehe :)

We lounged by the pool reading our books, sat in the massive spa overlooking our balcony over the river sipping champagne but one of the most memorable moments for me was this dish. It was part of the degustation menu of the day, which is a menu that is changed daily to take advantage of the freshest produce. It is “Donnybrook Marron, pan fried, avocado tian, semidried cherry tomatoes, vanilla verjuice reduction".  

The Cape Lodge restaurant has been voted top ten in the world for food. We absolutely loved the food and the wine pairing was spot on! Such a lovely lovely experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Farm Yard Birthday

Our wonderful little nephew Aiden turned two last August and I jumped at the chance to throw him a birthday party! After deciding that the theme was going to be a farmyard party given his love of animals, I was so excited I sent the invites out about 3 months early :) :) 

I set the food up on hay bales which made for a perfect backdrop & just looked SO cute!

These amazing cookies were made by Aiden's other Aunty. She just loves decorating & she's very talented at it.

 These "corn on the cob"cupcakes were fun & really easy to make.

 I made so much food that day and I can't believe they ate it all. I was certain we'd have leftovers for at least a week. Must have been all the jumping they did on the bouncy castle that had them famished :)

 The kids took away personalized New MacDonald lunchboxes filled with farmyard games and toys

Tiffany's High Tea

The girls were welcomed to this High Tea with a glass of champagne then took their seats where indulgent treats and fragrant tea awaited them. 

I customized my menu to suit the guests tastes and featured Marinated Cucumber Sandwiches, Chicken Avocado & Lime Aioli Sandwiches, Bacon Frittata Tartlets, Buttermilk Scones with home-made jam and clotted vanilla cream, Blueberry Macarons, Gourmet Custard Tarts & Mini Chocolate Mousse topped with cream and shaved chocolate. 

The guests played Tea Party Bingo, Word Scrambler and Croquet, with the winner receiving a gorgeous baroque photo frame as their prize.

Pink Vintage Dessert Buffet

I created this Pink Vintage Dessert Table for a very beautiful lady's 50th birthday. Although I didn't know it was her 50th birthday until I got there! This job was an absolute pleasure for me to work on and the client was just such a gentle soul. I felt so warmly welcomed that I wanted to stay for the party haha.

Poker Night Appertizers

My sweetheart has been playing poker with the same group of mates for years & years. But when it’s his turn to host poker night I get far more excited than he does. It means I get to make food for a bunch of hungry bellies & it’s not like I need an excuse to get in the kitchen!! I LOVE cooking just as much as I love baking so it’s a lovely change from making sweet treats These are just a few nibbles I made for the boys poker night.

Timmy Time Cupcakes

These Timmy Time cupcakes were made for a lovely little boy's second birthday. Not having children I'd never heard of Timmy Time! So I made a call to my sister & quickly found out it's one of my 2yo nephew's favourite show also :) After a lot of googling (I was getting confused between Timmy & Shaun the Sheep!!) I took inspiration for these figurines from cartoon photos on the ABC for kids website.
